HCBS Training

This 3-hour course is one in a series of courses, designed to offer participants an opportunity to take a deep dive into the HCBS Final Rule. Two-hour course on Home- and Community-Based Services (HCBS) for Trauma-Informed Support. Required for ARF, STRTP, and RCFE recertification.

Summer 2020 ALERT: Due to the pandemic of 2020, and related concerns, the implementation date of the HCBS Final Rule was delayed by one year. The new date is March 2023.

This two-hour course is designed to offer a discussion of trauma-informed support in the context of behavioral support across the continuum of care Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Course Description: This 2-hour course provides those required to align with – or interested in – the HCBS Final Rule. The Final Rule took effect on March 17, 2023 and provides an opportunity to provide person-centered supports across the continuum of care. We have incorporated brief references to the ten federal requirements into this course, and the ways in which service providers can demonstrate alignment with the Final Rule using refined methods of scheduling, conducting and documenting individuals’ meetings.

 

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

•       Name at least three ways that you can modify meetings to be more HCBS-friendly

•       Identify how HCBS-friendly meetings can be implemented without sacrificing outside requirements, rules and/or regulations

Course Description: This 2-hour course provides those required to align with – or interested in – the HCBS Final Rule. The Final Rule took effect on March 17, 2023 and provides an opportunity to provide person-centered supports across the continuum of care. We have incorporated brief references to the ten federal requirements into this course, and the ways in which service providers can demonstrate alignment with the Final Rule using refined methods of scheduling, conducting and documenting individuals’ meetings. Topics include cultivating purposeful and informative rights and consents education. This course was designed by providers who have insider tips and recommendations for aligning teams’ daily workflows with the Final Rule. 

 

-        Describe best practices for HCBS-friendly workflows

-        Describe at least two ways to modify rights, consents and grievance communications to align what is important TO and FOR an individual

Course Description: Join us for a 2-hour course that discusses reality-based staffing considerations, and how we can still find appropriate matches for individuals that we support. We have incorporated person-centered supports, including discussions about what is important TO and FOR individuals, and how we can best balance those with available staffing. Don’t miss the opportunity to take care of employers too, as there are numerous areas of exposure when we miss that perspective. It’s all about that match, y’all!

 

 

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

•       Identify the challenges of hiring 

•       Describe the difference between reality-based and person-centered staffing

•       Name at least two daily practices that providers can implement to become “more” person-centered in employment practices

Course Description: This one-hour ONLINE course is designed to offer participants an introduction to methods of preference assessment, which is a behavior-analytic procedure for finding out what is important TO the individual receiving support. Learn how preferences and reinforcers are related and how frequent preference assessment helps us to support people in achieving meaningful life outcomes.

Course Objectives:
- Define pairing procedures Name at least two advantages of pairing procedures
- Describe the differences between indirect and direct preference assessments
- Distinguish the steps of free-operant, single-stimulus, paired-stimulus and multiple-stimulus preference assessment
