Home & Community-Based Services (HCBS),

This 2-hour course is designed for professionals who are required to align with—or are interested in—the HCBS Final Rule. Effective March 17, 2023, the Final Rule establishes federal standards that promote person-centered supports across home and community-based service settings.

This course introduces key HCBS Final Rule requirements and explores how service providers can demonstrate alignment through improved approaches to scheduling, facilitating, and documenting person-centered planning meetings. Participants will learn practical strategies for strengthening compliance while enhancing the quality and individuality of supports.

The course references a structured framework of ten key practice areas derived from HCBS Final Rule requirements, offering a clear and actionable way to translate federal expectations into daily practice.

Topics include cultivating meaningful and informative rights and consent education, as well as integrating person-centered practices into everyday workflows. Developed by experienced providers, this course offers practical insights, real-world examples, and actionable recommendations to help teams operationalize the Final Rule in their day-to-day work.
