Why it matters
Summer 2020 ALERT: Due to the pandemic of 2020, and related concerns, the implementation date of the HCBS Final Rule was delayed by one year. The new date is March 2023.
This two-hour course is designed to offer a discussion of trauma-informed support in the context of behavioral support across the continuum of care Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- State what the acronym HCBS stands for
- Identify two ways that the HCBS Final Rule will benefit support recipients
- Identify at least two ways that the HCBS Final Rule will require qualitative changes in the way we provide supports
- ARF Administrators in California
- STRTP Administrators in California
- RCFE Administrators in California
- Group Home Administrators in California
- Registered Nurses (RNs) in California:
- Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN), Provider#CEP16912, for the number of contact hours shown above. Licensees must keep their certificates for four years from the date of completion.
- LMFT, LCSW, LPCC and LEP (Board of Behavioral Sciences in CA):
- EssentialCEU Institute is approved provider #1131, by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), a [BBS] Board-recognized approval agency. Essential CEU Institute maintains responsibility for the program. This course meets the qualifications for TWO contact hours of continuing education credit as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. BBS licensees must maintain records of course completion for at least two years from the date of license renewal for which the course is completed. Licensees are encouraged to contact BBS for specific approval information.
